A Brief History
Emanual Elmer Eifert was born in Cressona Pennsylvania on April 6, 1908 to his mother Uphana Amelia Hubler Eifert (1870-1944) and his father William Peter Eifert (1865-1952). Emanual was one of ten siblings consisting of six brothers and 4 sisters and was the second youngest of the ten. As of 1910 Emanual lived with his family in North Manheim, Pennsylvania where he lived with his family until sometime between 1920 and 1930 when Emanual left his parents household and moved to Reading, Pennsylvania where he lived with his sister, Grace Eifert Brinich, and his brother in law Robert Franklin Brinich. It was in 1932 at the age of 24 years old while living in Reading, Pennsylvania that he married his wife Florence E Leininger Eifert with whom he had two daughters, Joan A. Eifert (1936–2014) and Evelyn Marie Eifert Lang (1939–2003). Emanual had a grammar school education and worked as a "skilled brick and stone mason, and tile setter". At this point sometime between 1935 and 1940 Emanual and his wife left the household of Emanual's sister and as of April 1, 1940 moved to Stony Creek Mills, Pennsylvania which he listed as his place of residence on his selective service card. On May 10, 1944 Emanual enlisted in the United States Army in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania as a Private where he served in Training Battalion, Company E of the 213th Infantry Regiment until his discharge on December 23, 1944 serving for almost eight months. Following his discharge, as of April 25, 1950 Emanual and his family still lived in Stony Creek Mills, Pennsylvania until sometime between 1950 and 1974 Emanual moved with his wife back to Reading, Pennsylvania where he died on October 14, 1974. Emanual Eifert was laid to rest in Spies Zion Cemetery in Reading, Pennsylvania where he remains today with his his wife of 42 years at his side.

Unit History
"Honor First” is the motto of the 213th Regional Sup-port Group, a Pennsylvania Army National Guard Unit originally formed as the Lehigh Fencibles back in 1849. Undergoing frequent redesignations and reorganizations, the unit assumed a wide variety of missions over the decades—Infantry, Machine Gun Battalion, Military Police, Coast Artillery, Antiaircraft Artillery, and more—before its 1975 redesignation as the 213th Support Group. Headquartered in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the Group’s major components are its Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, the 728th Combat Sustainment Battalion, and the 228th Transportation Battalion."
